Abstract

OBJECTIVETo reconstruct the 3 dimension structures of portal vein and hepatic vein, the branch types of portal vein in caudate lobe were observed in physiological state by portal vein contrast CT via artery.?METHODS?3 D portal vein and hepatic vein were reconstructed by region growing method. Caudate lobe was around the inferior vena cava and was distinguished as LL(left lobe, left part), LR(left lobe, right part), RL(right lobe, left part) and RR(right lobe, right part) by left, middle and left hepatic veins. Branch type of the portal vein in the caudate lobe was observed.?RESULTS?The number of branches of portal vein in caudate lobe was 4 per person in average, ranged 2~5 branches per person. The branches of portal vein were observed 100% in LL, 32% in LR,80% in RL and 27% in RR.?CONCLUSION?Branch pattern of portal vein in caudate lobe around inferior vena cava in physiological status was ascertained.
