Abstract
With the increasing needs for spatial precipitation information, spatial interpolation method of precipi-tation is widely used.Different precipitation interpolation methods for different study areas and study aims will have different results.Taking daily average precipitation data from 1957 to 2000 of country basic stations in Xinjiang, using the geo-statistical model of ArcGIS to investigation spatial interpolation is carried. The result show that the two methods have their good and bad aspect respectively.Further, the result of Kriging method is more perfect in the whole analysis, but the IDW method is better in the partial analysis.
