Progress of diagnosis and treatment of fungal keratitis in China:current status

Fungal keratitis is a knotty eye disease with high rate of blindness.Early diagnosis and treatment can remarkably improve its prognosis.In recent years,the more knowledge of fungal cornea infection is achieved,and correct diagnosis rate is raised greatly.Quick diagnosis and typing of fungal keratitis with molecular biology also have been developed.Using histopathology techniques,it has been testified that different fungal strains have different infective ways in corneal tissues,and probably different growing modes in tissues.With exploring surgery methods,prognosis of fungal keratitis has been improved.In order to effectively treat fungal keratitis,a lot of basic and clinical researches should be done.
