Laccase and its applications in textile industry

Abstract

The characteristics of laccase and its catalytic mechanism were introduced,and its applications in textile industry were overviewed.As a kind of oxidase,laccase can catalyze the oxidation of substrates like phenols and aromatic amines.For this,laccase was widely used for modification of natural fibers,pretreatment,dyeing,discharge printing,anti-bacterial finish,and washing of denim.The results showed that with the combination of some mediators,the effects produced by laccase would be better.At last,the trend of development of laccase was forecasted.
