Abstract
This dissertation,starting with ,deeply explores the moral consciousness in the American realism novels in recent years,analyses it combined with the specific works of new realism novelists,compares it with the adjacent Modern fiction and draws the conclusion that there is a strong sense of moral reconstruction in the neo-realism novels. This study will help us to better grasp the direction of contemporary American literature and the developing trend and also make the readers further think of the relationship between literature and morality.
