Abstract
Objective To discuss the relationship between gestation management and pregnancy outcome in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Method The pregnancy outcomes of 82 pregnant women with GDM and 82 cases of normal pregnancy were compared, including pregnancy complications, caesarean section, premature delivery,FGR,incidence of macrosomia, perinatal mortality and morbidity of neonates.82 pregnant women with GDM involved 67 treated cases and 15 untreated cases. Results There were no differences between two groups in the pregnancy complications, perinatal mortality and morbidity of neonates, while caesarean section, preterm delivery, macrosomia, morbidity of neonates in GDM group were different from those in normal group. The incidence was especially high in untreated cases. Conclusions Timely diagnosis, intensive management, dietary treatment or insulin therapy for blood glucose control, and termination of pregnancy can effectively reduce the incidence of complications in mothers and fetals.
