Abstract

Objective:To study the value of the tests of mean corpuscular volume(MCV) 、mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH)、red blood cell distribution width(RDW)and hemoglobin zones analyses for the diagnosis of halassemia1.Methods:MCV、MCH and RDW were detected from 120 cases with thalassanemia,90 cases with non-thalassanemia and 60 cases control by automatic blood analyzer system.HbA_2 were detected by chromatography,HbF were analyzed by anti-base test,and compared with the test of gene diagnosis(PCR test)in order to evaluating their sensitivity and specificity.Result:The results of MCV,MCH and RDW showed significantly different between the thalassanemia group and the control group(P0.01).The sensitivity and specificity of MCV,MCH,RDW was 98.8% and 73.6% comparing with PCR.Conclusion:MCV,MCH and RDW could use as significance level on screening thalassanemia in prenatal diagnosis.
