Abstract
The crystal texture analyses of non-zeolite silicate minerals indicate that channel structures are existed in some layerchain silicate minerals such as palygorskite and sepiolite, some titanium silicates such as zorite and nenadkevichite, some feldspathoid minerals such as cancrinite and sodalite, some Mn-,Zr-,V-,Y-bearing silicate minerals such as verplanckite, cordierite, lemoynite, cavansite, pentagogonite, monteregianite, with their channel sizes varying from 0.25 nm to 1.0 nm.This paper has summarized the environmental functions and features of these channel structure-bearing silicate minerals in surface adsorption and ion exchange of heavy metal ions, and catalytic degradation of organic pollutants in environment.
