On Mencius' Concept of Conscience from the Vision of "Heaven" and "Destiny"

Heaven and Destiny are two important concepts in Chinese philosophy.The scholars have had the tradition of talking about the two concepts since the time of Confucius.They take Heaven and Destiny as the basis of fulfilling their self-ethics so as to promote the sense of holiness and responsibility in fulfilling ethics in real life.Mencius inherited the fine tradition and came up with the word conscience,developing Confucius' theory of nature and destiny and forming the ethics of mind-nature-destiny with distinct feature of Mencius.This helps to make the confucianists' fulfilling of self-ethics more practical and have a profound influence on the later generations.
