Abstract
Aim:To study the relationship between the tumor size of gastric stromal tumors(GST)and its pathology and prognosis. Methods:Spiral CT findings and pathological sections of 43 patients with GST(9 benign cases, and 34 malignant cases)were reviewed and 24 patients were followed up.Relationship between tumor size and outcomes was studied. Results:Tumor size was related with benignity or malignancy, recurrence and metastasis within 5 years. The tumor with diameter 10 cm manifested higher malignancy, recurrence rate and metastatic frequency. Conclusion:Spiral CT is of great value in analyzing the tumor size and evaluating benignity or malignancy and prognosis of GST.
