Abstract
The paper focuses on the urbanization in China. China urbanization process is complicated due to China's unique characteristics and development stage. We firstly examine the counter-urbanization in developed countries and over and under-urbanization in developing countries. Based on this analysis and empirical investigation of China urbanization process, the paper concludes that urbanization in China is under the average lev-el while over and counter-urbanization still remains. A sound judgment of China urbanization would be helpful to decision-making in urban planning.
