Abstract
Using Dynaform software, the effects of forming parameters such as,forming force, the pre-open hole axis ratio of the ellipse, die fillet radius, die gap etc were explored in GIS shell processing process.Orthogonal experimental approach numerical simulation was used, the optimal parameters of the pre-open hole axis ratio of the ellipse, forming force and die gap etc were gained. The thickness deformation results of numerical simulation and testing were compared. It is shown that the numerical simulation is relatively close to the actual test, the forming minimal thickness is 3.2% higher than before. The simulation result is reliable. It is useful for practical GIS shell forming process.
