A Comparison of Theory and Practice in Historiography of Intellectual History

Abstract

Comparing the chosen texts by Chen Lai,Qi Xia,and Qian Mu,with Zhu Xi's Historical World by Yu Ying-shi,this article argues that,from the viewpoint of the theory and practice of historiography of intellectual history,these texts differ significantly,especially in dealing with theory and practice of historiography between thoughts and history.Such differences offer valuable new inspirations to the study of the theory of intellectual history.
