Abstract

Aesthetic education as a humanist study is often dismissed as a bunch of platitudes, but from the viewpoint of academic history, this phenomenon confirms the salient characteristic of re-emergenceof humanist studies by which certain central motifs not only persistently find their way back to the agenda in the guise of brand new theories, but more importantly, establish a new perspective of exploring the problem. As facts have shown,a link exists betweenthe Way,a key term in traditional Chinese culture, and an ontological study of aesthetic education that transcends the boundaries of ancient and modern and east and west. Therefore, through a re-interpretation ofthe Way is the Waywe can launch an ontological discussion of aesthetic education, delimit the academic position and the theoretical value of aesthetic research and thereby provide a unique thinking path for the construction of aesthetic education in contemporary China.
