Abstract

Warfarin as an oral vitamin K antagonist is widely used for anticoagulation. It is discovered in recent years that the diet vitamin K intake can greatly influence the warfarin response.High diet vitamin K intake causes insensibility of warfarin treatment and low diet vitamin K intake causes instability of warfarin treatment.Supplement of vitamin K or other diet intervention may increase the stability of warfarin treatment. The adjustment of vitamin K intake may become an alternative of warfarin to change prothrombin time-international normalized ratio.
