People have for a long time believed that the feminist trend of thought in the New Culture Movement period was initiated and swayed by the male sex, paying no heed to women's role in this respect. The author of this essay, however, maintains that women had of their own accord participated and raised their outcries in the ideological movement for their own emancipation.
