Abstract

Firstly, the vapor-liquid equilibrium is correlated using UNIFAC method based on experimental data. Then the appropriate extractive solvent ethylene-glycol is chosen through qualitative estimation and quantitative calculation using group contribution method. The effectiveness of the solvent is validated through VLE experiment. The effect of different solvent ratio on relative volatility is investigated. When the solvent ratio is 3,the relative volatility reaches 2.26.At last the experiment of separation of tetrahydrofuran-ethanol by extractive distillation is carried out and the feasibility of process is verified by the result.
