Abstract
LabVIEW is considered as the most powerful software platform with developmental prospect in virtual instrument technology. In this paper the design principle of virtual instrument based on LabVIEW is elaborated. The current situation and advance in the research and application are also introduced. Finally the development trend of virtual instrument technology based on LabVIEW is summarized.
