The Communist Party of China and Chinese intellectuals' historical mission

The Communist Party of China has been paying great attention to intellectuals' historical mission in process of Chinese revolution and socialist construction by advancing some theories and policies towards intellectuals, which greatly enriched and further developed Marxist theory on intelligentsia. The past experiences have proved that only under leadership of Communist Party of China, can Chinese intellectuals establish their position in field of culture, economy and politics, can they get freedom and progress in academic areas, can they fulfil their functions in socialist construction. The study of past experiences of Communist Party of China and related policies towards intellectuals is practically significant in carrying out Jiang Zhemin's the three representings, and in speeding up pace of modernization in China.
