Abstract

This article is based on the data from urbanization rate and consumption of resources and environment from the year 2000to 2011 in Hubei Province,built a mathematical regression model and analyzed the relationship between urbanization development and consumption of resources and environment in Hubei Province. The results indicate that the relationship between urbanization rate and industrial energy consumption present the invertedU,and the relationship between urbanization rate and sulfur dioxide emissions also present the inverted U. Town- constructed area,discharge of wastewater and industrial solid waste production present theUwith the urbanization rate but not the invertedU. It shows that with the rapid improvement of urbanization rate in Hubei Province in recent years,which accelerates the consumption of resources and environment to some extent. So we must take effective measures in time to turn it around which urbanization develops should not at the cost of resources and environment.
