Geochemical Characteristics of Source Rocks in Jurassic Northwest Qaidam Basin

Abstract
The geochemical characteristics of Jurassic source rock samples in Jurassic northwest Qaidam basin are studied by the various geochemical records.Based on the comprehensive analyses of the organic carbon content,the content and conversion ratio of organic matter,parameters of pyrolysis,organic petrology parameters and biomarker characteristics of saturated hydrocarbon,the organic matter’s abundance,typeand maturity are studied,and the potential of generation hydrocarbon are evaluated.The results show that organic carbon content of source rocks in Jurassic is low,most samples belong to medieum and almost bad raw oil rocks,the type of organic materials is type III and in mature stage.Source rocks are from lakes of higher plant and marsh.They have the characteristics of cole source rocks.
