Abstract

At the beginning of 2009, the Luoyang Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated a tomb from the Tang dynasty at Dongshantou Village in Mengjin County, Luoyang. The tomb had been looted before the modern period and only a few burial goods were recovered. Among them the most valuable is a Muzhi(epitaph tablet) that records the life of one of the occupants, Heng Yi, and is of significance for the study of the Heng family and the Tang history.
