Abstract
Lots of key problems in dynamic security optimal domain in power system, such as dynamic preventive control, emergency control, total transfer problem and etc. , can be formulated as optimal power flow with transient stability constraints. This paper presents a survey of the recent advance of methodology for optimal power flow with transient stability constraints. Various approaches, including the optimization approach based on transient energy function methods, optimization scheme based on time domain simulators are summarized and evaluated. Analysis on complexity of the problem together with the applicable techniques for the problem is also presented.
