Abstract
Liver fibrosis is a reversible repairing reaction to chronic liver injury which caused by various etiologies, and leads ultimately to cirrhosis, the severity of liver fibrosis is critical to the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of liver disease. Liver biopsy is considered as the golden standard for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis, but the biopsy is invasive, has sampling error, and it's not easy to persuade patients to accept liver biopsy. Many scholars have payed attention to noninvasive diagnostic methods. Most researches focus on transient elastography and serum markers, but there is no satisfactory results of serum markers research, transient elastography is a new, fast, convenient, noninvasive, economic and repeatable diagnostic method, and has become a research hot spot. The recent advances and development of transient elastography for diagnosing liver fibrosis were reviewed in the study.
