Abstract
A model test on 10m span cable strut portal frame was designed and carried out . Through the static load tests of three different kinds of initial states, namely without prestress, lower prestress and higher prestress, not only the advantage of cable strut portal frame over common portal frame was clarified, but also some mechanical characteristics of cable strut portal frame was found. During the experiment, the construction mode of nodes and the prestress application manner of this kind of structure were also studied and tried. By the comparison of theoretical results and experimental results, the adaptability of the theoretical analysis method proposed in this paper was verified.
