Clinical observation of anterior corpectomy and fusion fortreatment of multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy

Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of operation of anterior corpectomy and fusion for treatment of multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM).Methods:In 88 CSM patients,62 were male and 26 female,aged on average 52.2 years.The duration of illness was 25.3 months on average.All patients were treated with anterior corpectomy and selfiliac bone graft.Results: Sixty-four patients were followed up for 33.2 months on average.All grafting bones got solid fusion in 3 to 4 months postoperatively.The excellent rate of operation was 79.6%.The JOA score rose from 8.5 points before operation to 14.4 points after operation. Conclusion: Effect of anterior corpectomy and fusion for treatment of multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy is certainly.The spinal cord decompression at the disc level and body level.
