Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) on the grading of intracranial glioma. Methods Thirty cases of intracranial glioma(low grade 16 cases,WHO Ⅰ-Ⅱ;high grade 14 cases,WHO Ⅲ-Ⅳ) which confirmed by operation and pathology were studied.Preoperation routine scan and DTI were performed using Philips Achieva 1.5T MRI Scanner.Postprocessing of DTI was performed on Philips EWS workstation.Based on the five types of components, fractional anisotropy(FA),relative anisotropy(RA) and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC) values were calculated by Release 2.6.3,Fibertrak software.Result For tumor parenchyma(include enhancing and nonenhancing tumor),the mean value of FA in high-grade was higher than low-grade glioma(p0.01),the mean value of ADC was lower than low-grade(p0.01).Conclusion DTI can provide useful information on the prediction of different gradings of intracranial glioma.
