Abstract

Objective To establish chromatographic fingerprint of total alkaloid in Zanthoxylum niridum by HPLC,thus provides method for the evaluation and quality control. Methods HPLC-UV method was applied to establish the chromatographic fingerprint of total alkaloid in Zanthoxylum niridum. The separation was performed on a UltimateTM×BC8 column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) gradient eluted composed of acetonitrile and 0.2% phosphate acid and 0.2% triethylamine. The column temperature was set at 35 ℃ and the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min.The detective wavelength was 250 nm.The HPLC fingerprint for 33 batches of Zanthoxylum niridum was studied on their similarity. Results Total of 24 characteristic peaks were established in the fingerprint. Conclusion This method is simple and accurate with good reproducibility, and can be used specifically for the quality control of Zanthoxylum niridum(Roxb.) DC.
