Analysis on blood donor's needs of blood donation service in Suzhou,China

Objective To analyze the blood donor's needs of blood donation services so as to enhance the quality of donation services. Methods An anonymous questionnaire was given to 600 blood donors in Suzhou,China from May 2012 to July 2012. Results According to the relative importance of blood donor's needs of blood donation services,the sequenced parameters were : communication in donation blood collection skill donation time and place environmental layout. 527( 928%) donors think the opening hour should be 08∶15 ~17∶00,535( 94. 2%) donors think blood collection workers should offer service with smile,536( 94. 4%) donors think the donation area should be divided into blood collection area、physical examination area and waiting area according to its process. 262( 46. 1%) donors favor material souvenirs,including 214( 37. 7%) donors hope to have a donation logo on the souvenirs. Conclusion Blood donors' expectations、performance of blood collection workers,emotional factors and donation environment should be considered to improve the quality of blood donation services.
