Farmers’Sense of Political Efficacy and their Political Participation

Based on questionnaires,statistical analysis of survey results,and relevant theories of political efficacy and political participation,this paper treats farmers as subjects and reveals that their sense of political efficacy impacts their political participation.It further finds that internal sense of political efficacy has a more pronounced effect on farmer’s political behavior than their external sense of political efficacy.Moreover,compared to I-want-to-make-a-difference type of internal sense of political efficacy,the I-know-about-it type of internal sense of political efficacy has a more significant impact on maintenance as well as on transformational political participation,possessing a permeating quality.On the other hand,take-it-seriously type of sense of external political efficacy also affects farmers’ political participation at both the high and low levels,but its impact is felt in different directions.
