Study on Depositional Facies of the Upper Ganchaigou Formation in Hongliuquan-Yuedong Area,Southwest Qaidam basin

Abstract

Based on sequence stratigraphic research,depositional facies of the upper Ganchaigou formation of Hongliuquan-yuedong area has been studied carefully.It comprises alluvial fan facies,fan-delta facies,braided stream delta facies,lacustrine facies,turbidite facies,etc.In the three Third-order sequences identified,the distribution of depositional facies are discussed,and the lake basin evolution and eastward movement caused by tectonic uplift are speculated.The control factor of the depositional facies exhibition has been simply analyzed.
