Research on mobile IPv6 handover performance measurement

Abstract

This paper presented a set of performance metrics for mobile IPv6 handover based on procedures of mobile IPv6 handover.Introduced a mobile IPv6 handover performance measurement method and implemented a measurement system using the method.The system could measure mobile IPv6 handover performance from the network layer to the application layer.With the system,performed some experiments in a WLAN testbed.Mobile IPv6 handover decreases the performance of various applications.And the upper protocol layer,the handover performance is getting worse.From network layer to application layer,the impact of handover to the network performance has a tendency to increase.
