Abstract
Structure and stability of lipid vesicles are studied by atomic force microscope (AFM). Results of studies show that there are some large and small spherical particulates in the area of scanning. It is possible to observe differences in size and shape by using AFM for the lipid vesicles in 1,2-Dioleoy-sn-Glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DOPE) liposome. For DOPE and DOPC (1,2-Dioleoy-sn-Glycero-3-phosphocholine) mixed liposome, we not only observed some spherical particulates of lipid vesicles, but also surveyeal bilayer structure of adsorbing onto the substrate. The bilayer in thickness in 5~6 nm.
