Abstract

Objective To investigate the alteration of cellular immunity in asthmatic children. Methods The expressions of T assistant lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood were detected in children with asthma compared with normal children using flow cytometer, including the percentages of Th1,Th2,CD4~+ cells,NK cell,B cell,CD3,CD8 cells, and the ratio of CD4/CD8.Results The percentage of Th1[(16.28±9.83)%] in asthmatic children was significantly lower than that of normal children[(20.77±6.89)%](P0.05).The percentage of Th2[(5.44±1.96)%] in asthmatic children was significantly greater than that of normal children[(4.21±(2.12))%](P0.05).The ratio of Th1/Th2 with asthma was 3.41±2.56,but control group was 5.91±3.24,there was significant difference between two groups(P0.01).There was no difference between asthma and normal children in CD3,CD4,CD8 cells, percentage of NK cell,B cell and the ratio of CD4/CD8(P0.05).The T lymphocyte subgroup of 10 children with asthma in the stage of remission showed that the percentage of B cell was significantly lower than that of the acute stage of asthma(P0.05),and others had no difference between the two stages of asthma. Conclusion The disorders of the ratio of Th1/Th2 and their functions in asthmatic children are very important, mainly displaying enhancing of the cellular immunity reaction of Th2 and the ratio of Th1/Th2 is significantly lower.
