About Jatropha curcas L. and Relevant Research Progress

Jatropha curcas L.,a kind of small arbor or shrub belonging to the family of Euphorbiaceae distributes widely in tropical and subtropical regions and mainly distributes in dry-hot valley in southwestern China.For its strong adaptability to the environment,especially drought resistance,high survival rate,high seed production and potential for producing bio-diesel,Jatropha curcas L.has significant developmental value in dry-hot valley area.The paper also summarizes its biological characteristics,rehabilitation settings,resource distribution,research progress as well as developmental prospect as one of biomass energy plants.
