Abstract

Objective: The aim was to explore the relation between the expression of mRNA(carcinoembryonic antigen mRNA: CEA mRNA and cytokeratin 19 mRNA: CK19 mRNA) in peripheral blood from the patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and the prognosis of the patients.Method: The peripheral blood samples were from 97 cases of NSCLC.CEA mRNA and CK19 mRNA in the blood were detected by reverse transcriptase-nested primers-polymerase chain reaction. The life cycle of 36 months were compared between the positive index of the mRNA and the negative in the blood of the patients.Result: The survival cases of NSCLC patients in the negative mRNA group especially into 24 months were much more than the positive mRNA group(P0.01-P0.05).Conclusion: The detection of CEA mRNA and CK19 mRNA in peripheral blood are useful index in the objective estimate of the prognosis of NSCLC patients.
