Abstract

Citric acid ester is prepared with citric acid monomer, and then applied to anti-crease finish of cotton fabric. The influences of time, temperature and catalyst on esterification rate are discussed by single factor analysis and orthogonal experiments. The optimum synthesis process are reaction at 60 ℃ for 75 min with 2 mL catalyst per 10 g citric acid. The mixture of citric acid and citric acid ester with esterification rate of 58.57% has better finishing effect, and the finished fabric features obviously improved crease recovery angle and capillary effect, and a little decreased whiteness and strength.
