On the social attribute and function of the new social class

Marxist class and stratum theory is still of theoretical value and realistic significance to analysis and study of our country's new social class.The new social class in China emerges along with openness and reform and the development of socialist market economy.It is different from the middle class in the west in that it is not only the builder of socialism with Chinese characteristics but also the indispensable factor in keeping the stability of China's social structure.The Party and government should guide it actively while fully respecting its rights and interests in order to make it beneficial to the construction of socialist harmonious society.
