The Research on Expression Skill of Vernacular Landscape Elements

With the guiding ideology of respecting local natural environments emphasizing local culture and valuing landscape regional characteristics, this paper analyzes the landscape expression of six new local landscape works in the middle of Shaanxi Province in recent years from the aspects of guiding ideas of design, application of vernacular landscape elements, expression skills of vernacular landscape elements, and effects of landscape creation. Through document study and inductive refining, eight kinds of vernacular landscape expression are concluded, including display, concentration, exaggeration, lead borrow, concise, variation, merging and technological innovation, and then their application in local landscape design is analyzed by combining actual construction examples.
