Abstract

Objective:To investigate the variations and clinical significance of serum interleukin-6(IL-6)and NT-proBNP levels in patients with sepsis.Method:Sixty sepsis patients with APACHEⅡscores greater than 12 were enrolled in the study.Fifty normal people were selected as controls.Patients in experimental group were divided into survival group and dead group according to 28-day mortality. The levels of serum IL-6and NT-proBNP were detected and the correlations with APACHEⅡscore were investigated.Result:In patients with sepsis, the average level of serum IL-6and NT-proBNP was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.01).In patients with sepsis, there was a positive correlation between the IL-6levels with the NT-proBNP(r=01667,P= 0.000).The IL-6levels were positively correlated with the APACHEⅡscore(r=01485,P=0.000),and the IL-6 levels were positively correlated with the NT-proBNP(r=0.741,P=0.000).The IL-6and NT-proBNP levels in serum in the dead group were higher than that of the survival group. Conclusion:The serum levels of IL-6and NTproBNP increased in patients with sepsis and there is a positive correlation between the IL-6,NT-proBNP levels with prognosis.
