Abstract
Although the bioethics of Confucianism is different from that of Taoism, their spiritual essence are the same.As for the status and the value of the human life, although Confucianism thinks that the value of the human life is more expensive than that of the non-human life and Taoism thinks that the value of the human life is as same as that of the non-human life, they all have the spirit of respecting life.As for the status of the different lives, although Confucianism only advocates the equality in personality of man and Taoism advocates the equality of every life in the world, they all have the spirit of equality. As for the emotion to life, although Confucianism advocates that we should love the non-human life on the basis of loving human life first and the latter is more than the former and Taoism advocates that we should love every life of the world without discrimination, they all have the spirit of benevolence. As for the state of life, although Confucianism pays more attention to the harmony of human relations and Taoism pays more attention to the harmony of human and nature, they all have the spirit of harmony. As for the death, although Confucianism advocates the idea to exceed death by making great contribution and Taoism to exceed death by combining with Tao,they both have the spirit of transcendence.
