Investigation and analysis on diarrhea and bacillary dysentery incidence in rural areas,Henan

OBJECTIVE To investigate the morbidity of diarrhea disease and bacterial dysentery in rural area of Suixian,Henan Province from May to November in 2010 at the community level,to assess morbidity of the these two diseases,to analyze the distribution of dysentery bacterial type,and to examine the transition of bacterial type recent years.METHODS Through proactive search,all the case of diarrhea disease in three villages were registered and sampled.Shigella was separated and identified.Morbidity of diarrhea disease and bacterial dysentery were calculated.The distribution of bacterial type was analyzed.RESULTS There were 3 488 permanent residents.1 114 person-time were suffered from diarrhea disease.34 case of bacterial dysentery were separated.The morbidity of diarrhea disease was 31.94%.The morbidity of bacterial dysentery was 0.97%;Sh.sonnei takes up 55.88% and Sh.flexneri takes up 44.12%.CONCLUSION The morbidity of diarrhea disease in rural area of Suixian in Henan Province is higher than the countrywide level.The morbidity of bacterial dysentery is eighteen times of that of reports on infectious diseases.The bacterial dysentery type is changing.
