Clinical Analysis of Combined Thoraco-abdominal Injuries in 68 Cases

Objective To explore the clinical features of combined thoraco-abdominal injury,in order to improve diagnosis and treatment exprence.Methods A retrospective study was carried out in 68 cases of combined thoraco-abdominal injury teated in our hospital from 2004 to 2010.Its clinical characteristics,diagnosis,treatment and outcome was summaried.Results In this study,thoracotomy was performed in 12 cases,closed drainage of chest with exploratory laparotomy in 44 cases,thoracotomy plus laparotomy in 8 cases,closed drainage of chest in 3 cases;63 cases were cured,5 cases were dead.Conclusion The condition of combined thoraco-abdominal injury is severe with progress quickly.Systemic and local situation should be regarded in clinic,type B ultrasonic、X ray、CT examination were important means in diagnosis.The treatment principal of combined thoraco-abdominal injury must keep respiratory tract unobstructed,maintain effective respiratory and circulatory process.Resistance to shock process,emergency surgery shoud be carried out,which can increase the ratio of successful rescue.
