The intellectuals were broken away and liberated from the chains of slave system as a result of the disintegration of this system in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Stage of the Warring States in China. For the first time, they experienced the happiness of independence and freedom. After realizing their responsibilities, they showed the unique personality in the stage of history development rationally and consciously, which can be observed chiefly in: (i) the high sense of social responsibility and great zeal to save the world; (ii) striving persistently for the ideal value; (iii) the enthusiastic propaganda of the personal value; and (iv) the high-level of self-discipline in morality.
