The Investigation and analysis of iodine content in water in Taikang County

Abstract

Taikang County is near the high iodine areas. In order to master the situation of iodine content in drinking water among my county residents,and provide the basis for disease prevention of iodine deficiency,drinking water iodine content is tested within the scope of 4 788 people. Methods According to the Henan province high iodine areas adjacent to the water iodine and iodine nutrition level census survey plan requirements,samples are collected and measured by Sulfuric acid- catalyzed cerium colorimetric method. Results the water iodine content in 1-10 μ g/L is110;10-100 μ g/L 3993;100-150 μ g/L 685;the median was 73.4 μ g/L. Conclusion according to the 2-3L level calculation of adult intake of water every day and night,daily iodine intake is about 200 μg. Regarding the latest recommended iodine value of human intake by the World Health Organization,my county belongs to the most adaptive iodine area.
