A Review of the Study of Ancient Chinese Narrative Theories in the Last Three Decades

A review of the study of ancient Chinese narrative theories over the past three decades from the perspective of mining ideas about narrative in ancient literary essays,summing up the narrative theories in classic texts,and attempting to construct a Chinese theoretical framework of the study of narration,reveals that the new growth point of the study is the systematic and comprehensive organization of the theoretical resources of ancient narratives and contrasting and holding dialogues with western theories on narratives so as to achieve mutual understanding and complementarity between Chinese and western narrative theories.
