Abstract
Objective To investigate the pathogenesis of skeletal Class Ⅱ craniofacial malocclusion by Delaire analytical method and explore the morphology and configuration of skeletal Class Ⅱ craniofacial malocclusion. Methods A total of 155 patients with Class Ⅱ craniofacial malocclusion were selected in this study, which were divided into three groups:average face type, short face type(SFT) and long face type(LFT) based on the value of the MP/SN and MP/FH,and analyzed by improved Delaire analytical method.Independent-samples t-test were used to analyze the data. Results The configuration and proportion of cranium,cranio-occlusion and cranio-face were significantly different among the three groups. The three groups had different craniofacial balanced features. Conclusion Delaire cephalometry analysis can intuitionisticly show the relationship between the craniofacial structures, the flexure of the cranial base and the variation of maxillary rotational growth, the glenoid fossal, the condyle, and the change of mandibular location. The quantificational description to the location of maxilla, mandible and the craniocervical junction can reflect the pathogenesis of skeletal class Ⅱ craniofacial malocclusion.
