Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical value of automatic measurement of carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT) based on AHP.Methods The CIMT and vascular age(VA) of 238 healthy persons were obtained with ultrasound arterial health package.IMT of common carotid artery was measured manually. Results The CIMT of different positions were different(Bulbcommon carotid arteryinternal carotid artery,P0.05).The CIMT of the group whose age were older than sixty was significantly higher than that of other groups(P0.05).The VA increased with the CIMT thickening(P0.05) or the age increasing(P0.05).However,the VA was younger than the physical age in all groups(P0.05).The automatic measurement values were significantly smaller than the manual ones(P0.05).Conclusion The proposed method is accurate and convenient, and has potential to assess atherosclerosis in clinic.
