Gastric motility study with real-time ultrasonography on functional dyspepsia

Objective To investigate the gastric emptying function of patients with functional dyspepsia(FD). Method Gastric motility functions of 167 FD patients and 64 normal controls were studied with liquid test meal on ultrasonography(US). Results The mean gastric emptying time was delayed in FD patients compared with that of the controls; the mean systole frequency, systole extent and motility indices of sinus ventriculi decreased in DF patients compared with the controls (P0.05). Conclusion There is obvious gastric emptying disturbance in patients with functional dyspepsia.
