Abstract

The 4-axle tractor-trailer model was established to study the vehicle dynamic load that the large trucks act on the pavement.Based on the pavement roughness, the change law of vehicle dynamic road and dynamic load coefficient, which are effected by road ranks, vehicle velocity, weight, tire stiffness, suspension damping and suspension stiffness, were studied. It is found that: when the road rank is degraded or the vehicle speed is higher or the tire stiffness is enhanced, the dynamic load of each wheel is increased;the reduction of the trailer suspension damping or the increase of the trailer suspension stiffness would cause the increase of dynamic load of each trailer wheels, but it has little effect on the tractor wheels;the dynamic load of the rear tractor wheel is increased with the rear tractor suspension damping, when the rear tractor suspension stiffness is near the 1.5 times of the primary value, the dynamic load gets the minimum;the change law of the dynamic load coefficient is as the same as the dynamic load in those cases;when the weight is added, the dynamic load of each wheel has a little changed, and the dynamic load coefficient is declined, but the whole load acting on the pavement is raised.13 figs,8 refs.
